Cosy and filled with charm, this two-bedroom cottage makes a wonderful home away from home for couples or small families looking to explore the North Norfolk coast. Constructed from Norfolk carrstone, this traditional property has been renovated with guests’ comfort in mind, while the courtyard patio offers outdoor space. Its proximity to beaches, walks and nature reserves makes it perfect for those who love the great outdoors.

With half-panelled walls and a lovely wooden floor and staircase, the lounge has a relaxed elegance, ideal for putting your feet up after a long walk along the beach, and watching shows on the Sky TV. A door leads through to the stylish kitchen, which is well equipped for cooking up a storm with a statement oven, and a dining table for family mealtimes. In warm weather, why not dine alfresco on the rear patio? There’s an outdoor utility room with extra freezer space plus washing facilities. Upstairs there are two tastefully presented bedrooms, a double and a quirky twin room, along with a family shower room.

Snettisham is a quiet village, set away from the main coastal resorts yet offering plenty of amenities, including several nice restaurants and cafes. There are walks from the village, and Snettisham beach and RSPB reserve are just 3 miles away. The neighbouring village of Heacham (2.5 miles) offers quiet beaches and the Norfolk Lavender Farm, while the seaside resort of Hunstanton (4.5 miles) boasts long, sandy beaches with dramatic cliffs and plenty of traditional seaside fun including a funfair and lots of fish and chip shops. From here you can pick up the Norfolk Coast Path for walks or go birdwatching at RSPB Titchwell and Holme Dunes (both within 10 miles).

It was clear that significant efforts had been made by the owner to ensure this little house was a pleasant place to stay and there were a good number of generous extra touches. Excellent location for birdwatching at RSPB Snettisham and RSPB Titchwell.

We enjoyed our stay at Cottage Pie. It was cosy and clean, light and airy. The beds were comfy and it was a great shower. Nice welcome pack too. Our only slight negatives were that the sofa was a bit grubby and the kitchen equipment could be improved - no teapot, knives were blunt, no egg cups but the dishwasher was great and we made use of the cofRead morefee machine. we loved the location and the cottage was very well equipped, fresh and clean. The heating didn't come on when we got there, i rang the owner after a couple of hours and he was at the property within 10 mins and sorted it, all good! My only criticism is that it was a smart TV and we don't have Netflix, amazon or disney plus, we watch BBC2! however Read morethe owner let us have his log in details which was extremely nice of him so we got to see what Netflix was all about, all in all a lovely few days. Particularly recommend The Old Store for coffee and brunch. Mark was a helpful host too. All in all, a great break in a part of the UK we had never visited before.
