This wonderful property, situated in Barton Turf just half a mile from the Norfolk Broads, is the perfect romantic bolthole for two. Sleeping you both in a cosy king-size zip-and-link bed, this single-level cottage could even be used as a base for two friends travelling together to explore Norfolk’s coast and countryside. Wake up among peaceful neutral decor, grab your morning coffee and head out to the patio to start your day in the great outdoors.

The holiday home is laid out in a relaxing open-plan style with lots of windows to maximise natural light; wood furniture gives the property a real cottage feel. Snuggle up on the sofa together in the evening, looking out of the patio doors towards the fields, or watch your favourite show on TV. The stylish kitchen area is overlooked by a fantastic wood beam; enjoy breakfast at the bar, sit at the dining table by the floor-to-ceiling window, or dine alfresco on the patio. Take a revitalising shower in the shower room before heading to bed for a great night’s sleep.

Hire a boat for the day from one of the many companies in Wroxham (5 miles) and get the true Broads experience, stopping at a pub for a drink and a bite to eat along the way. Head to Waxham Beach (9.5 miles), the quieter end of Waxham Sands, for a walk among trees and sand dunes. To the north you’ll get a good view of the reefs at Sea Palling (8.5 miles), and to the south you’ll see Horsey (12 miles) in the distance. The city of Norwich (13.5 miles) is a must-visit; stop at the beautiful cathedral in historic Tombland or wander hidden gem The Plantation Garden before browsing the 190 stalls at the large open-air market.

Excellent place to stay, peaceful and quiet. Everything you need is there, beautiful saucepans for cooking that romantic meal, to be served up on plates and cutlery that all matches ** top of the range on all equipment, super comfy bed. Looking forward to staying again, well done to the owners for an excellent stay in your beautiful lodge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Wagtail Lodge. The location is ideal for exploring the North East Norfolk region. It was a very comfortable stay and everything that we needed was available in the cottage, the welcome pack was especially enjoyed. Thank you to the owners for making us feel so welcome.

A very comfortable cosy cottage in a peaceful location. The owners have kitted it out in a very homely way and they are extremely hospitable and helpful, but not intrusive. We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area. Would definitely recommend and would come back.

This delightful property has been converted from farm buildings superbly, so is both full of character and yet designed to be very user-friendly. It is quiet and secluded but still in the village. Roger is the perfect host- Prosecco in the fridge! Older people will appreciate it all being on one floor (some Norfolk cottage staircases are a nightmarRead moree!) and having a walk-in shower. Great little cottage, not a problem to us, but you should show outside location in farm yard better (many adverts guilty of this). Roger was really friendly and helpful, cottage perfect, location great. Really enjoyed our stay. Main problem was price hike just at the week we could go, as we are stuck with school holidays. Great for short local walkRead mores - really impressed with the "Permissive" paths initiative. Hide
