Aylsham is an attractive, thriving and historic market town situated on the River Bure in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, yet only a few miles from the coast at Cromer. Home to the Bure Valley Steam Railway and just a couple of miles from Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, two of the county's well known National Trust properties. Weekly auctions are held in the sale rooms, in Aylsham, and are definitely worth a visit. Marriott's Way is a super off-road cycle and walking path, which follows the old railway line on the edge of the town.

Reviews

Swift Cottage was a lovely place to stay and Aylsham proved to be the perfect base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside, coast and visitor attractions. We will be back.

Mr Paul Bellamy,

The cottage was ideal for us 2. It was a pity that the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the lovely garden.

Mr David Northey,

Swift cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable even in winter. Comfortable sofa to sit on and a comfortable mattress. A good hot shower and everything you need as far as kitchen equipment. I'm sure the pretty garden would be lovely in Spring/Summer. Overall one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

Mr Stephen Clinch,

We had a really lovely stay. The attention to detail in the cottage was first rate.It is probably one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in.

Mrs Nancy Warnes,

Delightful, superbly equipped cottage with a lovely garden. Ideally situated for easy walking access to the lovely town of Aylsham . Close proximity to bus stop meant that we could use local buses instead of the car for a visit to Norwich. Lots to see and do within easy travelling distance. Highly recommended.

Mrs Janet Carver,

We've had a wonderful time in this cottage. The attention to detail is amazing. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this has surpassed them all. The close proximity to the bus stop was another bonus as it made our journey to Norwich so easy. We loved Aylsham - such friendly people, enjoyed the delights of the North Norfolk Coast and had a delightful boat trip. It's 40 years since we were last here - we are so glad we eventually came back. Thank you!

Janet & Neil,

Lovely cottage made special with all the artistic touches. Everything you need and more. We had a great week and the weather was very kind. Have been coming to North Norfolk on and off for 50 years. Thank you to everyone who looks after this glorious cottage.

Tony & Jenny,

What a gem of a cottage! We have had a lovely week here and the weather has been mostly good. Have visited Blickling Hall & Felbrigg as N.T members and really enjoyed our time there. Thank you so much.

The Hill Party,

The owners had taken great care to supply absolutely everything you could possibly need.

Mrs Jan Smewing,

Enjoyed our stay in a delightful cottage.

The Williams Party,

Had a lovely and enjoyable stay. Hope to be back again soon.
