Aylsham is an attractive, thriving and historic market town situated on the River Bure in the heart of the Norfolk countryside, yet only a few miles from the coast at Cromer. Home to the Bure Valley Steam Railway and just a couple of miles from Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, two of the county's well known National Trust properties. Weekly auctions are held in the sale rooms, in Aylsham, and are definitely worth a visit. Marriott's Way is a super off-road cycle and walking path, which follows the old railway line on the edge of the town.
Swift Cottage was a lovely place to stay and Aylsham proved to be the perfect base from which to explore the Norfolk countryside, coast and visitor attractions. We will be back.
The cottage was ideal for us 2. It was a pity that the weather wasn't good enough to enjoy the lovely garden.
Swift cottage is beautifully presented and very comfortable even in winter. Comfortable sofa to sit on and a comfortable mattress. A good hot shower and everything you need as far as kitchen equipment. I'm sure the pretty garden would be lovely in Spring/Summer. Overall one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.
We had a really lovely stay. The attention to detail in the cottage was first rate.It is probably one of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in.
