Nestled in the heart of the countryside, this delightful property serves as an ideal base for a couple or solo traveller to explore the abundant treasures of Norfolk. Crossing a low ramp, you'll step into the cottage and discover a welcoming open-plan lounge with exposed wooden beam ceiling. Sink into the cosy sofa beside the wood burner and enjoy the rustic charm. With a working farm nearby, you'll have no shortage of local produce to prepare and savour in the spacious kitchen/diner, equipped with everything you need to whip up a storm. After a day of exploration, take a refreshing shower in the bathroom, which offers views of the surrounding woodland. As the day comes to a close, relax and unwind with a restful sleep in the beautifully appointed double bedroom, where the rural ambience continues. Open the French doors in the lounge and step out onto the furnished private patio and fenced garden, where you can indulge in al fresco dining amidst the beauty of nature. Upon request, you can also access the farm's one-acre garden, where you can admire the waterfowl and peafowl that call it home.

Embark on a countryside adventure by exploring the numerous footpaths surrounding the cottage, or try your hand at fishing or golf within a 4-mile radius of Mattishall. Venture out to explore the natural beauty of Blakeney Point's reserve and dunes (30 miles) or the historical splendour of Blickling Hall's house and gardens (18 miles). Perhaps you'll be tempted to wander the meandering lanes of Norwich (19 miles), with its captivating castle, museums, art galleries, independent shops, and a delightful array of pubs and restaurants. For entertainment options closer to home, Dereham (4 miles) offers a cinema, sports centre, and a selection of shops and restaurants.

The cottage was delightful. Very quiet and everything needed for a pleasant stay. Lovely walks for the dogs and the village was great. Overall a lovely holiday

We found this property to be the perfect size for the two of us ( and dog). It was in a lovely position, rural yet not remote, being just outside of the village but within easy walking distance. The kitchen had everything you could want and the living room was comfortable with easy access to the garden space. My wife loved it so much she wanted to Read moremove in permanently and Wendy ( the owner ) told us that some people had stayed and asked to buy it afterwards. This is somewhere we would easily recommend and look forward to returning in the not too distant future. Hide

Property was as described and there was everything you could want and more in terms of how well equipped the cottage was. Cottage could have been a little cleaner but it was acceptable. Only downside was the lounge furniture which was extremely uncomfortable and could do with replacing. Overall I would definitely recommend the property and would Read morehappily stay there again. This is one of the best equipped cottages we have used over many years with everything from a lemon squeezer, and a teacosy to spare blankets and a two-pin charger in the shower room. Attention to detail included feed for the bird table - and lots of birds to feed - and loads of tourist information. It is in a lovely area of Norfolk and we shall Read moreundoubtedly return. Hide

It spoilt it for me when i made the mistake of booking the wrong date. i contacted the agency to see if i could alter my booking in anyway. I was put on hold while the girl was contacting the owner. the phone went dead while waiting. I was at work and did not have the time to waste waiting again as i had waited too long as it was. No phone call bacRead morek. When i arrived at the cottage the owner had no idea that i had contacted the agency and was worried to where i was. This to me is not acceptable. While i accept i made a mistake, the agency not phoning me back with an outcome and not even speaking with the owner is poor service. Hide

We like to cycle and the location is superb for that. If by chance it rains then there are plenty of places nearby to visit . The cottage is perfect............generously and well equipped.............and the owners discreet and helpful

The cottage was very clean and was a home from home. The location was perfect for dog walking. Wendy and John wonderful owners and have a beautiful property. We loved all the birds cows and cats around us. We are wanting to return next year.

The cottage was comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need. It is in a lovely countryside setting on a working farm but still near to towns, the coast and The Broads and many other places of interest.

Wayfarers cottage was a real taste of the countryside surrounded by a working farm and open fields. We found it restful, private and met all our needs.
