East Barsham is a small village nestling in quiet, rolling countryside close to the small market town of Fakenham and with excellent access to the North Norfolk Coast at Wells and Holkham. The area is renowned for its bird watching opportunities with Cley and Blakeney easily accessible. National Cycle routes 1 & 2 will take you through some super countryside and villages. With the coast so close and countryside on the doorstep this is a good location if you enjoy walking. The village pub, The Barsham Arms, is within easy walking distance of the cottage. Restaurants, shopping facilities and farmers markets can be found at Fakenham.
Our second visit as we were so impressed last year we decide to come back again
What a beautiful cottage and location. This was an ideal base to explore the coast, rural countryside, historical sites and nature reserves!PERFECT!
Second visit to this cottage best location yet in Norfolk
One of the nicest properties we have stayed in. Warm, welcoming and beautifully presented with friendly owner
Fantastic cottage in a very good location.
Though compact, Old Beans Cottage is finished to a high standard and very well equipped. This was my second stay and I would highly recommend it. It is convenient for the majority of the North Norfolk coast reserves and fantastic wildlife that can be seen from the patio.
Owl highlight: She flew right up to the window and we looked each other in the eyes. I think her and I have a special bond now!
Another wonderful stay, must be our 4th or 5th! Barn owls very obliging in posing this time. Counted 30 species of wildlife in the cottage environs alone! Martin as usual the perfect host - here's to next year!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Beans Cottage and hope to visit again in the future.
We have had a n enjoyable week walking, cycling and eating. The wildlife at Old Beans has been in abundance. Hope to be back in the Autumn.
Had a great week - even the weather was good! Ideal place for birders to stay for seeing the owls, red kites, kestrel and buzzards.Best cottage we have stayed in in Norfolk, home from home. We tell our friends about it
