Set in the picture-postcard village of Stanhoe, this holiday cottage is the ideal base for exploring Norfolk's unspoilt coastline and countryside. Dating back to 1796, the barn conversion has been lovingly restored to combine contemporary furnishings with original features. From the natural flooring to the characterful wooden beams, every part of this dwelling is full of character and charm. A friendly local pub is only 200 metres away, while the beach is just 5 miles, so there is plenty to do nearby.

The spacious and light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room is the perfect place for families to spend time together with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a wood burner ensures a cosy atmosphere year-round. For those looking for a quieter place to relax, there is a snug, with a TV. Upstairs, there are four restful bedrooms, with some containing original beams and low-height windows. For added indulgence, one of the king-size bedrooms also boasts an en-suite shower room, while the rest share a family bathroom. Elegant French doors in the dining area open onto the rear garden, making it ideal for outdoor entertaining in the summer months. With a lawn and a patio area, it's the perfect setting for al fresco dining.

Make a visit to the popular beach town of Wells-next-the-Sea (11 miles) or, for entertainment, try Heacham and Hunstanton (10 miles) and their accompanying Victorian resorts. If you fancy some wildlife watching, Morston Quay (16 miles) offers boat trips out to Blakeney Point Nature Reserve, where you can see a variety of seals, rare seabirds and other sea life. You can also make a day trip to Sandringham (11 miles), Houghton Hall and Gardens (4.5 miles) or Holkham Hall (9.5 miles), for a chance to appreciate some local history. For a more bustling atmosphere, head into King's Lynn (12 miles), with its many shops, cafes and attractions.

A lovely holiday cottage with all the comforts of home and lots of space to relax. It is well placed to enjoy the Norfolk coast with plenty of other places nearby to enjoy.

Beautiful property and garden with everything an extended family needed as well as welcoming 2 pets. We were disappointed with lack of recycling.

Beautiful barn conversion. Very well appointed, spacious and comfortable with everything of a good quality. The garden was perfect for the dog and the utility and boot rooms were very useful. Also all the information about walks and places of interest supplied by the owners was very helpful.

We have stayed in this property for the last 5 years. The toilet in the en-suite hasnt been fixed for the last three. The blinds in the living area are always broken and although we love it there, we can see the property deteriorating. The property is lovely but needs some TLC. Hide

The Barn, Stanhope was an excellent property for our family group of Grandparents, Daughter, husband and three grandchildren from 12 weeks, 3 & 5 years .The large rear kitchen and lounge were perfect for everyday use and the 'snug' was even handier for the children to be noisy at play whilst the 12 week baby tried to sleep!! The utility had everythRead moreing we needed including a hose outside the utility door to clean the dogs after a day on the beach. Beds were comfortable and roomy, bathrooms and showers all good. The Spar at Docking was far bigger than it looks and well stocked, our meal at the Duck inn was very good and just 20 minutes from a number of beaches - it was a great place to stay Hide
